Hi! My name is Jorden van Zeumeren, general dentist with a focus on implantology, restorative and reconstructive dentistry

Growing up in Hengelo, I developed an early interest in the dental profession through my father. I was regularly allowed to help him in his dental practice, which sparked my passion for dentistry. I studied dentistry in the lively student city of Groningen, where I graduated in the summer of 2019. During my studies, I became fascinated by the possibilities within the profession, especially in restorative and reconstructive dentistry. In my final year, I specialized in techniques to restore chewing ability and the bite, for example, after tooth wear. In doing so, I look at the mouth as a whole instead of tooth by tooth. This approach ensures lasting results and restores both functionality and aesthetics.

After graduating, I moved straight to Amsterdam and started working as a dentist freelancer in several general dental practices. In addition to general dental treatments — such as fillings, root canal treatments, crowns, and prosthetics — I focus on implantology and more extensive restorative cases.

Specialization in implantology

I gained my knowledge of implantology, the placement of screws in the jaw to improve chewing ability or replace missing teeth, from the International Team of Implantology (ITI). This expertise helps me plan restorative treatments and provide solutions for missing teeth. With modern digital techniques, such as dental scans, we make our plans more insightful and accessible. Visually displaying treatment plans gives patients a better understanding of what is happening and what to expect.

Passion for restorative and adhesive work

In addition to implantology, I greatly enjoy adhesive dentistry, where I build up or restore teeth with composite and ceramic. This approach is tissue-saving, as only the affected part is removed and the rest is replenished. This significantly extends the life of teeth, which is increasingly important as we age and want to keep our teeth as long as possible.

A sustainable and ethical approach

I rarely place full crowns because of the loss of healthy tissue this requires. I only do this if it is functionally necessary; not solely for aesthetic reasons. My approach is always tissue-saving, functional, durable and as beautiful as possible. Just as I would want it for myself or loved ones.

Training and Courses

In order to continuously expand and maintain my skills, I regularly attend courses and trainings. Below is an overview of the most comprehensive and important courses I have taken.

Portfolio

Throughout my dental career, I have been able to broaden and apply my knowledge and experience at various practices.

Methods

Since 2019, I work largely digitally using a Trios scanner and Cerec, which ensures efficient and accurate treatment plans. I also use oral photography with an SLR camera to record and review my work. I perform most treatments under at least eight times magnification; as a result, I work with great precision. For the purpose of oromyofunctional therapy I work with the Myobrace brand, for implants I use the Straumann brand. In addition, I have been affiliated with the Dental Quality Register since 2019.
